La-La Land Final Star Trek Album

La-La Land Records has announced their final Star Trek franchise album, a 4CD set of previously unreleased music from the four Rick Berman series: TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT. It’s “been a long road,” indeed! Track list is in this FSM message board thread.

This is largely based on fan requests, but of course, we couldn’t use everything (it would be 20 discs and cost $300). So I hope people are happy!

As a super-exciting bonus, we have included four cues from Star Trek: The Motion Picture composed by Jerry Goldsmith and orchestrated (by Fred Steiner and Arthur Morton) in 1979 but never recorded (for whatever reason). Composer Joe Kraemer has created new electronic versions in terrific quality. Amazing!

One of them is in the YouTube video above, to picture, the climatic “Meld” music, but an early version based on Ilia’s theme.

These unrecorded cues were discovered in the process of Tim Rodier publishing his Omni Music bound book of the written orchestrations—a must have!

Star Trek music is a topic I could go on about for hours. I don’t have the time, right now, so I’ll stop here.

But I’m really grateful to La-La Land for producing all these releases, and I hope people enjoy them. Warp speed, Mr. Crusher.
