You’ve almost certainly heard about the WGA and SAG strikes. You may have also heard that SAG has an “interim agreement” to allow independent films to be produced during the strike.
I feel lucky that, as a producer, I didn’t have something so far along that the strike (either one of them) caused it to fall apart.
I did look into trying to produce something with a SAG interim agreement...but for a variety of reasons, it would be way too ambitious.
The latest news from the writers strike last week is that the producers tried to jam the writers with a PR move and it backfired.
So the producers took the important next step...of hiring a new PR firm.
We’re going to be striking for a while yet!
