CNBC Is Terrible

I never watch CNBC. The only clips I ever see are on the John Oliver Show, where he shows fragments of the hosts being idiotic.

It sure looks like it’s full of bad advice—and it turns out that’s true.

The actual best way to invest in the stock market is boring: just put in money and leave it there. Trying to “beat the market” is a fool’s game that loses money.

But CNBC is successful at one thing: getting people to watch CNBC.

It reminds me a lot of the various screenwriting contests, companies and consultants. They don’t make people into real writers, but do get them to spend a lot of money on their services. Sad!
