Did I see this correctly (SPOILER)...

That Ethan Hunt loses his scuba tank at the bottom of the ocean—after much is made of him being so deep it is an experimental, untested suit he needs to stay alive—and then swims to the surface, in ice water, drowns and dies from the bends (does this make him double dead?) somehow goes up through the tiny hole in the ice created for him—and then is revived?

I feel very out of touch.
