At some point in the summer of 2009 I was in my car listening to KCRW’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic” when I heard a catchy song that I noticed seemed to be repeating the lyrics, “I’m at the Pizza Hut. I’m at the Taco Bell. I’m at the combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.”
I thought it was hilarious—and all these years later, it still brings a smile to my face.
Now Slate has given us the definitive oral history about this song and its band, Das Racist.
Enjoy.
This reminds me of the Taco Bell / Pizza Hut switch in "Demolition Man", that Scott Bettencourt surely knows about. https://www.cbr.com/demolition-man-taco-ball-pizza-hut-switch/
