I am organizing my CD collection to prep it for sale and having many emotions. I thought of the expression, “Farewell, my lovelies”—which reminded me of Farewell, My Lovely, the exquisite David Shire we had the good fortune to release.

I faced a similar situation a few years ago when I lost my office of 20 years and couldn't fit everything at home. The emotional baggage was so much harder to let go of than the physical CDs themselves.
