I didn’t realize what a big deal last week’s eclipse was. We only got a little bit of shade in the L.A. area, and I experimented with poking holes in paper to see the crescent shadows (above).

I remember a partial eclipse my senior year of college which must have been this one. It got pretty dark in the late morning and was really cool.
