If you follow entertainment news at all, you know a writers strike is quite possible (and even likely) after the WGA contract expires at midnight tonight.
I am not a WGA member, though I was an “associate member” for a while a few years ago after optioning a pilot I co-wrote.
But of course I would, and will act, as if I am a member, as far as following the rules if there is a strike. (Otherwise they’d never let me in later!)
It can be hard to get up-to-the-minute info on the negotiations. Here’s a good Twitter thread as of Monday morning.
I’m not qualified to explain all the underlying issues—but suffice it to say, writers are being squeezed (screwed) and are standing strong to fight for their (our) rights, and money!
