Here’s one of my favorite John Williams cues (and that’s saying a lot), “Hide and Seek” from A.I. Artificial Intelligence.
I keep wondering when companies are going to crack down on all these score videos. This guy has a downloadable pdf behind a paywall on his Patreon, which seems like poking the bear.

Reading (and enjoying) the John Williams biography has me diving back into his scores, and A.I. has a new place in my current rotation. I've always appreciated it, but reading the analysis in the book (it's the writer's favorite Williams score) made me think of your Christopher Young quote about the usefulness of film music journalism. Some film fans are actually proud that they don't read film criticism--"I don't need someone else's opinion, I think for myself!" is the gist of most of the time. But I've always enjoyed Pauline Kael, David Thomson, Shickel (sp) and others because their opinions give me something to bounce my own off of. My new enjoyment of A.I. is a perfect example of the…
