Mount Boxmore
This is what FSMCDs.com has done to my house! The Kickstarter fulfillment is really filling it up. We’ll be through it this coming week—finally!

We’re Getting There
I didn’t realize how lucky we were to be shipping CDs almost all of the time. These Best of FSM books are heavy and unwieldy. But we are getting the Kickstarter rewards out, I promise! Thanks and look for more updates next week.

Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
Thumbs up for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms , the newest Game of Thrones spinoff/prequel from HBO. I didn’t even know this was coming, or what it was based on. I saw a listing and thought, hey that looks like a Game of Thrones ripoff. The creators have wisely “gone small” and very successfully so, with a character-based story about a wannabe knight and his unusual squire. It recaptures the feeling of the early Game of Thrones seasons, with the lived-in world and medieval

Digital Rewards
I wrote a Kickstarter update about this yesterday , but we are getting the digital rewards for the campaign set up now. These are the free months of FSM Online and the donor “badges” for your forum profiles. If you want your FSM Online subscription to use something other than the email address you used with Kickstarter, please email me: LukasKendallMV@gmail.com . Thanks!

Intrada Kickstarter
As we work on getting our Kickstarter rewards out the door, a reminder that Intrada needs your help to fund their new recording of The Night of the Hunter —which I absolutely want to hear! Please contribute, this score is SO GOOD and a new recording is our only hope.

Filmation CD Cover
I’ve been asked for cover art for our Filmation Music of Ray Ellis CD, now being shipped to Kickstater donors. (Extra copies will go up for sale after the donors get theirs.) Of course— here you go ! And, a reminder, we have a free archive of all our FSM CD cover art on Dropbox .

Star Trek IV
I was rewatching Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home , as all of the Trek movies have cycled around on pay cable. It’s a reminder of the simple power of goodness and teamwork, and seeing people we like, who like each other, live up to their ideals. Ah, Star Trek, bless you. I remember when the late 1980s Star Trek movies came out and the critics and culture were just merciless about the aging cast. Old jokes, fat jokes, wig jokes—it was brutal. And now Indiana Jones is in his eigh

Kickstarter Update
We are thick in the middle of getting the Kickstarter rewards out. I know some people have received them, but most are eagerly waiting. It’s still going to take us at least a week to get everything out—maybe two. We are setting up the system to email tracking numbers upon dispatch, and hopefully that is working. Stay tuned!

ST:TMP Costumes
I checked out a new used bookstore in Pasadena yesterday—that is, a new bookstore that sells used books. They had some Star Trek and film-related books and it reminded me how much I loved going to the Bunch of Grapes bookstore in Vineyard Haven growing up. I would sit there for hours (it felt) going through making-of books and new issues of Cinefantastique. I bought a bunch and still have and treasure them today. As much as the Internet is a cesspool of misinformation that i

He-Man and Morris
There’s a trailer for a new He-Man movie, which looks like a videogame (natch). But this is as good a time as any to remind everybody that the voice of the original animated He-Man was the same as Morris the Cat. True!

Star Trek III Sets
The classic Star Trek movies have been showing on pay cable and of course I love them, even the bad ones. But it’s crazy how cheap they made some of these sequels, especially given how extravagent the VFX are in the new series. Star Trek III has an almost absurd reuse of sets: the Klingon Bird of Prey bridge is a redress of the Enterprise torpedo room; the San Francisco bar was built in sickbay; the Grissom bridge is the Enterprise bridge with the helm facing the other way.

Kickstarter Rewards
The Kickstarter rewards are coming! Thank you for being patient as we have hundreds to get through. I am not going to start selling the extra copies of the perks until the donors get theirs. And I’m not going or promote them yet, because I want people to be able to buy them once they see the promotion. It’s all underway—thank you!

Best of FSM Books Are Here
The Best of FSM books have arrived! So we’re now good to go to ship out all the Kickstarter perks. We have around 700 to send, and can do 50–70 a day, so this will probably take two to three weeks. Many thanks to Paul Shipper for that beautiful cover art!

Scott Dunn Orchestra 1970s Concert Last Night
I had such a good time last night at the Scott Dunn Orchestra’s 1970s film music concert in Beverly Hills! Great renditions of classics like Chinatown , Superman and Jaws , but also a lot of rarely played pieces: Time After Time by Miklós Rózsa (with filmmaker Nick Meyer in the audience), The Taking of Pelham One Two Three and The Conversation by David Shire—and the encore was David’s “Manhattan Skyline” from Saturday Night Fever . I’m sure you can find a proper report/rev

Scott Dunn Orchestra Concert Tonight
Tonight is the next concert by the Scott Dunn Orchestra in Beverly Hills (Sat. 1/17/26). I really enjoyed the last concert and this one is all 1970s repertoire. Buy your ticket and hope to see you there !

Addresses Locked
Boy, this is taking forever. We will start to ship out the Kickstarter perks as soon as the platform finishes its mandatory 48-period to allow everybody to double-check (or update) their address. Stay tuned, it’s happening!

Jeanne Jones Fundraiser
I was very sad to see this fundraiser for Jeanne Jones on Facebook . I have known her forever, way back to the earliest days of Film Score Monthly—always so supportive and kind, and a true and loyal fan of the art form. She used to place ads in the magazine for her buying and trading. I saw her only a couple of months ago at the Fans of Film Music gathering. Please help if you can.

Kickstarter Fulfillment
Okay folks, it’s happening! I have closed the Kickstarter pledge manager (it’s still open another day) to collect addresses and postage. We are expecting the Best of FSM books any day now, so we’ll start Thursday with the non-book shipments (Ray Ellis CD, collector cards, mugs) and then add the books...and this will take up the rest of the month for us! (Typically we can get 50–70 packages done a day, and there are around 700, so that’s 10–15 days, or two to three weeks’ wor

Twilight Zone 1980s
UPDATE: It sold! Sometimes I walk past our inventory, which is still in our living room (another story, oy!) and see something and I’m like, we still have that? I produced the 3CD set of The Twilight Zone , the 1985 revival, for Intrada, and I really enjoyed working on it. Terrific scores by Basil Poledouris, Craig Safan, Christopher Young and many other notable names—and they all sound really good, too, we had the first-generation stereo mix tapes. There are zero copies on e
