Andor Easter Egg

There is a fantastic Easter egg at the end of Andor’s finale.

SPOILER!

In the end credits, after reprising the show’s own, very modern and thumping action music, there is a segue to the classic John Williams music which was newly recorded for the purpose. It’s actually recap of the Star Wars theme from Return of the Jedi (you can tell from the quote of the Throne Room theme).

It’s such a perfect and unexpected capstone to this show that, despite being so mature and different from any of the other sequels or series, stays true to the 1977 spirit of the Rebellion against the Empire. I loved it!

Only one thing is puzzling me: in one transition of the Williams music, they decided to tacet the melody. I don’t know if this is because they didn’t have the players on hand to handle it, or something about the edit didn’t work, or if they just did it as a matter of taste. I am tempted to actually find out the answer!

Apologies if my memory is faulty, but I don't think they had any woodwinds on the session. That might be why the descending line was removed. (I didn't go back to check any of this, so I'm sorry if I'm rememebring incorrectly!)
