CD Price Cuts

Updated: Aug 21, 2025

Our next CD sale at www.fsmcds.com will be in September. We’re awaiting the next collection coming in. But in the meantime, I’ve finally done something I’ve needed to do for a while: PRICE CUTS!

Our philosophy at www.fsmcds.com is low margin, high volume. I generally price by looking at discogs.com and matching the lowest available price—and going a bit under if possible.

So our prices have been pretty consistent in the year and a half the website has been operating. I don’t want people worrying about buying something now and then seeing a lower price later.

However, there are still some titles where we’ve accumulated two, three, four copies—which means either I priced them too high, or, possibly, it’s just that everybody who wants them already has them.

Either way, I am dropping prices on select titles (including a lot of goodies), and here’s the rundown:

NOTE: I went to put in links—which would take me a half hour, but is important. And of course the wix.com editor is malfunctioning this morning. If it clears up, I’ll add the links. But the search engine at www.fsmcds.com works pretty well now. Thanks! [Cleared up and adding links as I am able!]

The site sorts pretty well now, but for those who still like to have a spreadsheet of inventory, here is the latest.

9/30/55: Was $10, now $8. A very good Leonard Rosenman score to the 1970s James Dean biopic. Rosenman scored Dean’s East of Eden and Rebel Without a Cause and the two were personal friends. The Varèse CD is a rare reissue of the original soundtrack album but has some annoying dialogue.

A.I. Artificial Intelligence: Was $75, now $65. Surprised we still have two copies of this. It’s $120 on eBay. Magnificent La-La Land 3CD set of the emotional Spielberg/Williams project about an android boy.

Above and Beyond: Was $15, now $12. If you only buy one Hugo Friedhofer score, I would seriously consider this FSM release that was always one of my favorites. Gorgeous Americana dramatic score for the story of the pilot who dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima.

Africa: Was $12, now $8. Excellent late 1960s Alex North for documentary about the African continent, CD on Prometheus. Somehow we ended up with a lot of copies of this one.

Airlines: Was $65, but apparently that was me completely misreading a price somewhere. I’ve repriced it to an ordinary $12. Very good Desplat collection of new recordings. Only one copy.

Alfred the Great: This is a Raymond Leppard score that I guess is pretty obscure now? We have one copy of the Kritzerland that I’ve lowered from $30 to $25. And we have three copies of a bootleg that I’ve dropped from $20 to $15.

Amistad: We have one copy of the La-La Land Spielberg/Williams expansion which I didn’t realize is still in print at $30. So I’ve dropped ours to $25. Going once, going twice…

Antarctica: This is a pretty common Vangelis title. But there are some rare Japanese editions that are, evidently, worth more. We have one on Polydor 3112-22 (Japan) for $8. And we had one on Polydor POCP-2016 (Japan) that always sells for a lot at Discogs, but it’s languished with us for $25. So I’ve dropped that to $20.

Antony and Cleopatra: I love this John Scott score. It might be my favorite of his. He released two editions on his JOS label. We have the JOS 114 for $10, which I’m dropping to $8. And we have the reissue (adding a track) on JOS 128 which I’m dropping from $25 to $20. SO GOOD!

Ava Collection: We have two copies of the 3CD set from Intrada of Elmer Bernstein’s Ava Records albums—a must! Price cut from $45 to $35 but honestly you should be pay anything for these albums in such good sound quality.

Bandolero! We have 3 copies of the original edel release of this tuneful Goldsmith western (the album tracks only). Was $5, now only $3. Are you a Goldsmith completist? I had missed this one, I didn’t even know about it!

Becoming Colette: Dropping this John Scott score from $25 to $20.

Beneath the 12-Mile Reef: This is a Herrmann classic that we released on FSM. I’m dropping those copies from $25 to $15. We also have a copy of the rarer Kritzerland reissue for $65.

Between Heaven and Hell/Soldier of Fortune: Like Above and Beyond, an FSM Friedhofer album I was and am so happy with and I wish we didn’t have so many unsold copies. Was $15, now $10. Please give it a shot?

I’m not dropping these, but we have three copies of the La-La Land Big-Top Pee Wee (Elfman) and three copies of the FSM Big Wednesday (Poledouris). These are out of print and I know they’ll sell. $25 each.

The Blue Max: There have been so many editions of this WWI aerial adventure action score, you’re forgiving for being confused. But we have several copies of the 2CD set from La-La Land, which is long out of print and I’m dropping from $35 to $25. A Goldsmith must.

The Bravados: Was $18, now $15. Terrific Newman/Friedhofer western score on FSM.

We have a bunch of the Breakfast at Tiffany’s album CD editions over the years, and they’re already $3 so that’s pretty low. A couple also include Mancini’s Arabesque which is pretty cool.

Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia: A moody, Peckinpah/Fielding Mexican-flavored classic. I overshot on the two editions of the Quartet (same track list), was $45, now $25.

The Burbs: This is a little bit of a pricing oddity. Usually when a new edition comes out of a classic score, the old versions’ value plummets. But for some reason, even though the most recent Burbs release is from La-La Land, the previous Varèse CD Club editions are still priced higher from the online sources. I have one copy of the very first Club edition which I’m keeping at $25. There’s also three copies of the Deluxe Edition (expanded) which I’m lowering from $45 to $25.

Caboblanco: Obscure but exciting Goldsmith adventure score. We have several copies of the La-La Land edition which is out of stock at the label. Was $18, now $15.

Captain From Castile: The Classic Film Scores of Alfred Newman: Was $18, now $12. Part of the Classic Film Scores series, check it out if you’ve never heard Alfred Newman before.

The Caretakers: Classic Bernstein score on Varèse. Was $12, now $8.

China Moon: Was $25, now $18. George Fenton score on Quartet.

Con Passione: Was $30, now $25. Mark McKenzie promo CD.

Conan the Barbarian: It was such a big deal when this was finally released on CD. And now every copy I see of the 1992 European Milan edition is totally bronze. We have two copies, I don’t even know if they play, but the packaging is intact for completists. Buy it for $1.

The Contender/Deterrence: Larry Groupé doubleheader on Citadel. Was $10, now $8.

Cousteau: St. Lawrence/Australia: The Last Barrier: John Scott Cousteau CD, was $35, now $25.

Crossed Swords: No love for this medieval adventure Jarre score on FSM? You must not have heard it, it’s great! Was $12, now $10.

Cutthroat Island: John Debney’s pirate adventure score has always been popular with fans, and has been reissued several times. We have several of the albums, and are cutting the Prometheus from $35 to $25.

Damn the Defiant!/Behold a Pale Horse: We did this FSM CD of two Colpix albums on one CD. Was $25, now $18.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes: This Giacchino CD is hard to find. We have one copy for $65 and it’ll sell. So I’m leaving this as is.

The Day of the Dolphin: There are several editions of this fine Delerue score and we have a bunch of copies of the Percepto. Was $18, now $12.

Death Before Dishonor: Brian May action score on Prometheus. Was $10, now $8.

Dino/I Mobster: Two jazzy Gerald Fried feature scores. Was $15, now $12.

Drango: We have several copies of the bootleg for $3 and two of the Kritzerland for $8. Which already seems low for a Bernstein western so I’m leaving as is.

Endless Night: We have three copies of the excellent Quartet re-recording of this obscure late Herrmann score. Was $18, now. $15.

Escape Artist: Another Delerue on Percepto. Was $8, now $5.

The Fall of the Roman Empire: 2CD set re-recording on Prometheus. Was $25, now $20.

Fear Strikes Out/The Tin Star: A Bernstein doubleheader of 1950s Paramount scores on Kritzerland. Was $18, now. $12.

Field of Honor/Secret of the Ice Cave: Roy Budd/Robert M. Etsy doubleheader on edel. Was $15, now $12.

Field of Dreams: Just a heads up we had one copy listed as BMG for $25. Well no wonder nobody bought it. It’s actually the La-La Land for $25.

The Final Countdown: This John Scott WWII sci-fi adventure score is a must. We have the Tarantula (was $15, now $12) and the better JOS edition (was $25, now $20).

First Knight: We have several copies of the original Epic release of this robust Goldsmith symphonic score—was $5, now only $3.

Friday the 13th 1-6 box set: We have one copy of this out-of-print La-La Land box set. Was $185, dropping to $145. This is the copy from Douglass Fake’s collection.

Great Epic Film Scores: El Cid, Fall of the Roman Empire, Magnificent Showman: We have three copies of this Cloud Nine CD. Was $12, now $10.

The Gypsy Moths: Lovely Bernstein score on FSM. Was $15, now $12.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: This La-La Land CD of the cartoon soundtrack is out-of-print and goes for over $100 on eBay. We had several copies priced at $65 but we have to move them, so reduced to $45. This will be hard to find at that price after it goes!

Just a reminder that we have a very large number of Mancini albums, most from Doug Fake’s collection. They have a wide variety of cool tracks and arrangements and are affordably priced. Just look for Henry Mancini in the now-functioning search engine.

The Heroes of Telemark/Stagecoach: Two Mainstream albums (Malcolm Arnold, Jerry Goldsmith) on one CD from Intrada. Was $25, now $18.

Hoffa: I remember Fox kinda overpressed this David Newman score at the time of the movie and, well, that’s still true. We have a bunch of those for $3.

Home Alone: We have several copies of the original CBS album of the John Williams score. Was $12, now $8.

In My Sleep: Conrad Pope score on MovieScore Media. Was $5, now $3.

The In-Laws: John Morris comedy score on La-La Land. Was $8, now $5.

Inchon 3CD set: Intrada mega-edition of the Goldsmith WWII score. Was $45, but I didn’t realize it’s either still in stock or back in stock at Intrada. Reduced to $25.

Jane Eyre: This 1971 John Williams score is gorgeous! It’s been released a bunch of times. Right now we have one copy of the La-La Land ($25), we’re dropping the price from $18 to $15 on two copies of Silva Screen 204, and we have the first Silva Screen release, 031, for $8.

Joe 90: We have three copies of this Barry Gray/Silva Screen release. Was $20, now $15.

King of the Wind: John Scott score, was $12, now $10.

Korngold Steiner Herrmann: This was the sampler CD of Tribute Film Classics’ first-rate re-recordings. Was $8, now $5.

La Revolution Francaise: Delerue 2CD set on Disques Cinemusique. Was $18, now $12.

Laurette/Prince Jack: Bernstein two-fer on Kritzerland, was at a bunch of different prices (sorry), now all reduced to $5.

Leave Her to Heaven/Take Care of My Little Girl: Kritzerland Alfred Newman two-fer, was $18, now $12.

Legend: Just a heads up we have the original Up-Art release of the Goldsmith score for only $5.

Looney Tunes: Back in Action: Deluxe Edition: Goldsmith’s last score. The Varèse Deluxe Edition is out of stock (they only sell a digital edition now), we have several copies. Reduced from $30 to $25.

Men in War: Bernstein on Kritzerland. Was $15, now $10.

The Mighty Macs: Bill Ross score on Varèse Sarabande. Was $15, now $12.

Miklós Rózsa: A Musical Autobiography, Vol. 2: Tickertape bootleg of 1950s Rózsa scores. I had this at $18 for some reason, reduced to $8.

Miklós Rózsa: The Vintner’s Daughter, Hungarian Serenade and Concert Works: Citadel collection of Rózsa concert works. Was $15, now $12.

Miklós Rózsa/Erich Wolfgang Korngold: Bay Cities collection of concert works. Was $12, now $10.

The Misfits: We have four copies of the Rykodisc release of Alex North’s gorgeous score to the Marilyn Monroe/Clark Gable/Montgomery Clift film. So good! It’s only $5. Please give this one a shot. I helped out on the CD all those years ago (1990s) and was so proud of it.

Mission: Impossible—Rogue Nation: Joe Kraemer Mission score. Was $15, now $12.

Navy Seals: Sylvester Levay score on Intrada. Was $45, now $35.

Nightmare on Elm Street: 8CD box set with “Freddy sweater.” What a cool box set! This is Doug Fake’s personal copy. We have had one copy listed for months at $245. It’s well over $500 on eBay, crazy. I’ve priced it down to $195 and I hope somebody buys it because these are, apparently, super hard to find.

Odyssey of the Belem: John Scott score on JOS. Was $15, now $12.

The Omega Man: The first FSM CD went out of print and has liner notes, unlike the 2.0 reissue. Great Ron Grainer sci-fi score! Was $35, reducing to $25.

Our Mother’s House/The 25th Hour: FSM two-fer of Delerue scores. Was $12, now $10.

Papillon: I had the Quartet edition of this Goldsmith score overpriced because I didn’t realize it’s still in stock at the label. So it’s reduced to $20. Sorry!

Perlasca: Morricone on Rai Trade, reduced from $25 to $20.

The Pick-Up Artist/The Rapture: Delerue album on Kritzerland, $15.

The Prince and the Pauper: Stromberg/Morgan recording on Tribute Film Classics, reduced from $25 to $18.

Race for the Yankee Zephyr/The Survivor: Brian May scores on OneMOne, reduced from $12 to $10.

The Raggedy Man: Goldsmith reissue on Varèse Sarabande, reduced from $45 to $25. Gorgeous Goldsmith Americana!

A Raisin in the Sun/Requiem for a Heavyweight: Original Intrada edition, reduced from $25 to $15.

The Return of a Man Called Horse: The Varèse Sarabande edition of this fabulous western by Rosenthal, reduced from $15 to $8. And the Intrada 2CD set (also including Inherit the Wind) reduced from $55 to $45.

Rich and Famous/One Is a Lonely Number: Delerue/Legrand doubleheader on FSM, lovely stuff! Reduced from $18 to $12.

The Rising Place: Conrad Pope score on Lakeshore, reduced from $15 to $12.

The Sand Pebbles: Intrada OST, the best version of a Goldsmith classic. Reduced from $18 to $15.

The Scarlet Tunic: John Scott score on JOS, reduced from $12 to $10.

The Seventh Sin: Good dramatic Rózsa score on FSM, reduced from $12 to $10.

Shy People: Tangerine Dream score on Dragon’s Domain, reduced from $15 to $10.

Sin of Innocence/Love Thy Neighbor: Delerue doubleheader on Intrada, reduced from $15 to $12.

Since You Went Away: Film Music Archives Steiner 2CD set. I simply had it overpriced at $65, it is now $35. One copy only.

Sinful Davey: Ken Thorne on Quartet, reduced from $18 to $15.

Sodom and Gomorrah: Rózsa epic, on Collectables, reduced from $15 to $10.

Some Came Running: Bernstein on FSM. We had different prices on this, so I’ve standardized to $15.

Somewhere in Time: Debney recording on Varèse, reduced from $8 to $5.

Soylent Green/Demon Seed: I was so proud of this sci-fi doubleheader at FSM, and still am! Soylent Green is by Fred Myrow, Demon Seed is Jerry Fielding. I think our three copies are fairly priced at $25. Hope they sell, they deserve to.

Spartacus: 2005 Randy Miller TV score on Intrada, reduced from $8 to $5.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture: Just a reminder we still have a copy of the out-of-print 3CD set version from La-La Land, priced at $65. Usually over $100 to $130 on eBay!

Stravinsky: Octet, Septet, Scott: The Wind in the Willows: Classical album of Stravinsky and John Scott, reduced from $15 to $12.

A Study in Terror: John Scott score, reduced from $18 to $15.

Superman: The Music: Just a reminder we have boxes of extra copies of the hardbound book from the 8CD FSM box set. You can order one for only $1.

The Swarm: Goldsmith’s “bee” classic (haha) for Irwin Allen. We have the Prometheus edition reduced from $8 to $5.

Symptoms: John Scott score on Dragon’s Domain, reduced from $15 to $12.

Take a Hard Ride: Goldsmith western classic, the FSM edition reduced from $18 to $15.

The Tale of Despereaux: Bill Ross score on Intrada, reduced from $18 to $15.

Tess/Le Locataire (The Tenant): Sarde/Polanski doubleheader, both jewel box and digipak editions on Universal France. Tess is my favorite Sarde score, absolutely gorgeous, a must! We had copies at $12 and $15, I have reduced them all to $10.

Time of the Wolf: John Scott score reduced from $25 to $18.

Transylvania 6-500/Korgoth of Barbaria: Holdridge two-fer on BSX, reduced from $35 to $25.

Who’s Been Sleeping in My Bed?/Wives and Lovers: George Duning/Lyn Murray comedy scores on Quartet, reduced from $18 to $15.

The Winds of War: Cobert, Varèse reissue, reduced from $25 to $18.

Zulu Dawn: This Bernstein score is always at the end of the list and there’s always a lot of them! We have the BSX for $12 and Cerberus for $5 which seems fair to me.

Some people need more than just a loan, they need a system that keeps them on track. Black box car finance delivers exactly that by integrating payment monitoring directly into the vehicle. Once you pay your monthly instalment, you receive a code to enter into the device, keeping the car operational. The representative example shows borrowing £10,000 over 60 months at 19.9% APR, costing £255 monthly and £15,329 overall. Carboom designed for those with poor or thin credit files, it’s less about restriction and more about support through technology.
