Disclosure Day Fun

I had such a great time at Disclosure Day. Spielberg’s still got it! No spoilers here, so this will have to be brief. What a gift to have a new John Williams score!
Screenwriters should study this for one of the all-time great “in medias res” openings. There is a massive amount of exposition built into an opening chase. The degree of difficulty with this is almost off the charts.
Spielberg is the GOAT, what can we say? Just for the moving masters alone. Wow.
Can’t say much more without getting into spoilers.
Go see it!

Agree with your observations about Spielberg's still massive filmmaking talent and the score. Ultimately the movie didn't work for me but I still really enjoyed about 80% of it.
I don't get some of the extraordinary HATE it's been getting from some people, lots of them on the FSM board. I mean, ultimately I found the film disappointing, but it sure didn't ruin my life.
I've seriously never seen a backlash quite like this, where people seem to be taking their own disappointment or non-enjoyment as if Steven Spielberg personally insulted them. It's bizarre.
Do you agree that as drama its as strong as any score JW has done has done? Regardless of his age. Not a masterpiece perhaps but dramatically potent as a baseline. I wish it would open up at times, but the movie doesnt allow it. I found it an internal experience where things are unlocked from inside and the score follows that. -Michael Ware
