Whoa! Another one of my all-time favorite cues: “Luke Pursues the Captives” by John Williams from The Empire Strikes Back.
The harmony to the “Bespin dirge” always fascinated me but I didn’t have the musical experience to understand exactly what the harmonies were. Here it is!
And then there’s that fantastic transformation of Yoda’s theme into Luke’s action music.
This is one of the best musical sequences in one of the best scores of the best sci-fi franchise. It haunted me for decades and is so perfect! I arranged it for trombone octet a few years ago. The Duel from "The Empire Strikes Back" - YouTube
