FSM Contributors—Thank You!

An important MEA CULPA today to all our peeps in FSM land.

The new Best of FSM book we compiled (available worldwide from Amazon) was a huge challenge for a variety of reasons—namely, making a book out of 35 years’ worth of content, and then locating all the files, doing clean-up/editorial, etc.

One of the things I was worried about—so much so that I kind of blocked it out of my brain—was representing all of the writers who contributed to our magazine.

Generally, I followed the topics and subjects I thought were the most representative, and didn’t stress to include every writer—which, to be fair, was impossible. (And also, I think everybody knows this and is reasonable about it.)

But I absolutely should have run a list and a thank you to all our contributors.

Part of the problem was that I wasn’t even sure I had a list of all of them, and couldn’t imagine sitting down and flipping through 150 print editions (not even the 20+ years of the web version) to compile the names.

As it turns out, I didn’t have to—they were already in the index that reader Dennis Schmidt compiled for us.

I absolutely wish this was in the book itself, but here is the list.

Also, I regret that this is just the print version (1990–2005), not the 2006–2026 online magazine—but that will have to wait to another day.
