FSMCDs Sale Titles

Welcome to everybody finding this blog column from the La-La Land Records email list!

If you want to sign up for our mailing list, please go here. We typically do a new email blast every two or three weeks (usually on a Tuesday) to announce new listings.

Most of you probably know me, but I am Lukas Kendall from Film Score Monthly. In recent years I’ve started a used film music CDs store, FSMCDs.com.

It’s pretty straightforward: we take collections on consignment (we pay 50% of sales to the owners), list them and sell them.

We have a HUGE new collection to list later this month, but the unexpected problem of having too much stuff in stock already! So we need to lower prices even more to clear enough table space. Because this is what we’re looking at...

It’s an interesting time for soundtrack CDs. We price our titles by looking at the price at discogs.com (and to a lesser extent, eBay/Amazon) and try to stay lower if not competitive.

There are literally thousands of soundtracks now to be had for as little as $3 or in some cases $1.

Then there are the limited edition collector’s market releases—La-La Land, Intrada, Kritzerland, FSM, Quartet and others—which are still escalating in value. We offer these at way less than the nutty eBay prices.

Our store is at FSMCDs.com and features some pretty robust search and sorting tools. Play around with it as it’s pretty intuitive.

There is also an ON SALE section where we are blowing out stock that we’ve had for a year or more—which doesn’t mean it’s lame, just that for whatever reason nobody wanted it...yet! Please check carefully because there are some amazing items in there.

We offer FREE SHIPPING for U.S. orders for $50 or more—but you have to select it in the check out area (the website will prompt you to choose free shipping, which is in fact FREE, or “flat rate,” which is a nominal cost—there was no way to get the system to just apply free to everybody).

International shipping rates are insane right now but if you are outside the U.S. and interested in a large order, we can do a custom rate for you—just ask.

When you use our store, please create an account and be sure to be logged in when you start to add items to your cart! Otherwise, if you log in later, it can get confused and start the cart from scratch.

Any questions or issues, I am very easy to find: LukasKendallMV@gmail.com.

Some people find it easier to look at a Google sheet of the complete inventory, which we update and offer here. Just keep in mind you can’t actually order off the Google sheet, you need to go the store to do it at FSMCDs.com.

Also the Google sheet does not update as items sell, so if you can’t find the item at the store, that’s why—it’s gone (or in somebody’s cart).

Interesting in selling any CDs yourself? Email me: LukasKendallMV@gmail.com. It’s sad to think of parting with your treasured collection but everybody’s situation is different. If you need to downsize or just need funds, we can help.

Thank you all for making this store work and hope you find some great music!
