Our FSM 35th Anniversary Kickstarter has closed with a whopping $64,726. Thank you all so much!
I was pretty sure we would reach our initial goal of $25,000—so much so that I started to front that money as far back as April to the new web company to get our new site going.
I thought we could make $40,000, and then was really hoping to get to $50K. When we hit $60K, I was just blown away—and to finish just shy of $65K is huge! I am so grateful for your loyal support!
The plan now:
In the short term, I am going out of town with my family tomorrow (7/12) and will be back in the office Monday, July 21st.
It’s not like I’m so burned out from this campaign that I suddenly have to head to the beach—every summer our family takes this trip and I pushed it back a week to make sure I would be in the office to finish the Kickstarter.
Most of you probably know that I operate a used film score CDs shop called FSMCDs.com. We offer low prices and worldwide shipping on a wide range of both common and rare film score CDs (as well as some classical, pop, Blu-rays and film music-related books). There are nearly 5,000 items in stock.
Because the site is a bit slow, I also offer a Google sheet of the inventory—the only problem being that the inventory does not update as items sell, so I need to provide a new one from time to time (or daily, during busy periods).
Any FSMCDs.com orders that come in through the end of tonight, my mailing associate will come by on Monday and ship out. Any orders Saturday and onwards will ship starting the 21st.
Do you have CDs to sell—or even your entire collection—and want to get the quickest, most hassle-free payout? We sell on consignment and it always works, I promise. Email me at LukasKendallMV@gmail.com.
Upon my return, we’ll get the La-La Land 20% off codes emailed to qualifying donors, and Joe Sikoryak (our longtime art director) and I will finish the Ray Ellis CD, the trading cards and original logo mug. Hopefully those will be ready to ship in September.
The website company is targeting October 1st to unveil the redesigned FSM, including the message board and new FSM Online. Our stretch money will then fund at least a round (or two) of improvements and additions beyond that. But rather than change what the website guys are doing mid-job, we’ll let them finish their original scope of work, and then see how we want to tweak or expand it.
The Best of FSM book will take the longest to accomplish. I have a bunch of ideas of articles to include, and will get to work on cleaning up and formatting them in August, and will also reach out to our legacy writers to get their input (and permissions, where appropriate) and see who might want to write anything new. We will try to get this published and distributed in November.
So that will be the second half of 2025—and it’s all thanks to you!
I will be available during our vacation to answer emails and keep an eye on the board discussion, but I won’t be updating the blog until I am back.
Thank you everybody!
