Soundtrack Gems

Soundtrack Gems is a pretty massive archive of film scores and composers—so massive that I asked its provenance and the owner described as human-created, A.I.-assisted.

It has a YouTube channel as a companion, making it a pretty neat—and free—resource to explore composers and scores.

I really appreciate these things because it takes me back to the 1980s when I was getting into film scores. Needless to say there were no soundtrackgems.com. There was me turning over the video boxes at the rental store looking for familiar names!

There was a certain romance in the hunt for knowledge, but there still is the hunt now—it’s just about searching the abundance for what you want, instead of wandering the void hitting dead ends.
