Street Work

Our street is being repaved today, after what feels like months of work. It’s been inconvenient and now the whole house is shaking when the roller goes by. I lived at the end of a dirt road as a kid so this is new for me.
As annoying as it is, I appreciate that we are getting a free street! Our tax dollars at work.
Be thankful if you have to live with just one or two days of shaking. My office is right across the street from a hospital that just got torn down, and after they dug out the basement, they filled the hole with fine gravel. Naturally, they want to compact it as they go, so we had about a month of vibrating floors and walls while the rollers did their work, layer after layer.
