I used to love This Week in Baseball. Before ESPN, Sportscenter and a million cable channels with their overpriced sports packages, it was the only way to see highlights from around the majors.
A bunch of old episodes are floating around YouTube—a great way to watch old players and ballparks. And Mel Allen: “How about that!”
And I loved the music! The opening and closing pieces were from the KPM music library.
The opening was “Jet Set” by Mike Vickers, which also served as the theme to the NBC game show, “Jackpot”:
And the closing was even better: “Gathering Crowds” by John Scott.
This piece led to John Scott being hired to score North Dallas Forty, which we released on FSM.
“How about that!”
I've missed hearing that end theme! Thanks for posting!
