Birdman of Alcatraz is a lovely, intimate Bernstein score from the early 1960s. We have a copy of the Varèse release for $25.
I remember when the Bay Cities Black Sunday/Baron Blood CD came out over 30 years ago, wow. Two Les Baxter scores on one disc. $12
We have a sealed but drilled copy of the infamous unreleased Varèse Sarabande album: Blood In, Blood Out by Bill Conti. This was “infamous” in that Varèse had to cancel the album when the film’s title changed (to Bound by Honor) and throw out their stock, but some copies got out and became one of those bragging-rights albums for collectors. The thing is...it’s actually a good score! We’re asking $225.
We next hit our limited selection of Blu-Rays. I am not a video collector so I’m not familiar with these. But it seems like a pretty cool collection of rare titles, especially the international pressings (check the region notes, please). This link will bring you to our site with only the Blu-Rays listed, over 80 of them.
The Blue Max (WWI Goldsmith adventure/flight score) is a must! We have three copies of the La-La Land 2CD set, here, here and here, each $35. Also a copy of the early Varèse release for $5.
By the way, here is a major action sequence from the film with the Goldsmith music restored as the composer intended (the director dropped it):
The Bobo is the Quartet release of a Francis Lai score, only $12.
We have the hard-to-find Intrada 387 release of Body Double by Donaggio. This one’s sought after—$85.
Next are books, which I’ll detail tomorrow. Thanks folks!
