Farewell Peter David

I was sorry to hear of the passing of Peter David, who had suffered health problems in recent years. His bibliography as a comic book creator and novelist is enormous.

Like a lot of comic book fans I mainly followed artists—this was as a kid in the 1980s—but I began to notice writers’ names as well, and I remember his always stuck out on books that were especially creative, dramatic and interesting. Star Trek and The Incredible Hulk come to mind.

I didn’t read a lot of the Star Trek novels, but I did read his TNG book, Strike Zone, and really loved it. I still have my copy, all these decades later.

Farewell to another one of the greats—and with gratitude for all the lasting work.
