New CDs Are Live
We have added a small lot of CDs to FSMCDs.com : around 60 John Williams CDs, and anoher 120 of all composers that sadly suffered from water damage—but in most cases, the discs themselves are fine, and they are super cheap! And remember, there are now thousands of CDs with SALE PRICES, including what we have left of Douglass Fake’s collection. You may want to browse this spreadsheet of our complete inventory (new items at top), and then go to FSMCDs.com to order. In other n

Small CD Sale Tomorrow
We will go live with a small lot at FSMCDs.com tomorrow, Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 10AM Pacific (1PM Eastern). There are around 60 John Williams CDs (in great condition) plus another 115 CDs or so (all composers) from a different collector which unfortunately suffered water damage. So typically the booklets are shot—and sometimes there is even print matter stuck to the tops of the discs—but the discs themselves should be playable (your meager money back if not). So if you

Bad Boys
Congrats to La-La Land for their Bad Boys and Bad Boys II CDs announced today. Check out the bundle here . Crazy to think that Bad Boys is 30 (actually 31) years old. Back in the 1990s, when I started FSM, that would be like us celebrating a reissue of a 1966 score—wow!

Amazing Stories for Piano
Harrison Ingemarson made this piano reduction of John Williams’ theme for Amazing Stories : I remember watching this for the first time with the imaginative title sequence: What can you say about master composer like John Williams, who knows how to create an instantly memorable tune, perfectly arranged? It’s like a lost art now. Although the show had a lot of promise—a Twilight Zone -style anthology, made by top filmmakers (Spielberg!)—outside of a few episodes, it just wasn’

Mandalorian and Grogu
There’s a new Star Wars movie in less than three months. The trailer: It’s a little hard to tell what the actual story is going to be. I have enjoyed the show but when the hero doesn’t show his face and the sidekick doesn’t speak, it is rather limiting to the drama.

Dan Madsen’s Lincoln and Mark Twain Collection
It’s not films or film music, but my friend Dan Madsen is selling his incredible collection of Abraham Lincoln and Mark Twain materials . You’ll remember them, of course, from the episodes “The Savage Curtain” and “Time’s Arrow,” respectively.

Robert Carradine
I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Robert Carradine. He took his own life after years of battling bipolar disorder . My friend and I once saw him out at an L.A. restaurant. For whatever reason we introduced ourselves—we’re fans—and I remember him sweetly saying, “I’m Bobby” and shaking hands. He played the ultimate, iconic nerd in the Revenge of the Nerds films, but it was a total performance—I remember in person being struck at how cool and un-nerdy he seemed. The o

Snow
My hometown got absolutely walloped by a blizzard. Here in SoCal, it’s sunny atnd 75 degrees. I used to love the snow so much growing up, and I miss it. Of course, at a certain point, enough is enough!

Superman 1978
I was channel-surfing briefly yesterday and saw a few minutes of Superman: The Movie on pay cable. (Nowadays both the 2025 and 1978 films come up in the channel guide as simply “Superman” so it’s not always clear what you’re going to get.) This is one of my favorite movies and I just love it, always. I watched a few minutes of the initial Metropolis scenes. Donner and his team get everything so right. Even the little things, the character grace notes and humor—just so, so go

Today’s Inventory
Thank you to everybody who bought from yesterday’s clearance sale, we had a busy day! Here is a spreadsheet of what remains in inventory —and please go to FSMCDs.com to order. Doug Fake had one of the most impressive collections I’ve ever seen—and I would know! He was especially comprehensive with Italian soundtracks (Beat, Cinevox, GDM, etc.) and those rare titles are a lot of what we still have now—now at discounted prices. Hope you find some goodies. Thanks!

Clearance Sale
We are slashing prices on what we still have of the Douglass Fake CD collection —as well as some other collections that we’ve been selling for nearly a year. The reason is simple: we have MORE collections coming in, and we don’t have any room! Visit the store to order , or see this spreadsheet of the complete inventory —Doug’s titles start with “DCF” in the last column, and you can sort by that column as well. Other collections with sale prices are LAR, FED, PCL and a few oth

Vince Guaraldi Plays
Check out this video of Vince Guaraldi (with bass and drums) playing “Linus and Lucy,” courtesy Lee Mendelson Film Productions: It’s billed as the earliest television recording, from 1964—but I actually don’t think I’ve ever seen a video of Vince playing. I have read that he had short fingers which led in part to his unique sound. It’s hard to describe, but his music just doesn’t sound the same played by anybody else.

Dropping Names
Brent Spiner and Jonathan Frakes have a new podcast, Dropping Names with Brent and Jonny , which is terrific fun. Anybody who has seen them at conventions knows how good they are. The entire TNG cast was an extraordinary collection of good people who are genuinely decent and fun. It’s not a Star Trek podcast, but they have “resigned to fate” that Trek will come up a lot. Enjoy!

Inception Ending
I like Christopher Nolan’s films, although I don’t spend days and weeks trying to figure them out. (I think even Nolan said Tenet is not supposed to make sense.) But this video on Inception does seem to provide the most conclusive interpretation about the ending: Well done, nerd!

Remembering Jeanne Jones
I’m sad to report that longtime collector Jeanne Jones has passed. I mentioned her GoFundMe last month . Please see this thread on the FSM board with info on a remembrance in the L.A. area on the 25th—I’ll be there. I received this remembrance from longtime friend, filmmaker Willard Carroll, who asked to share a few words with the community: ### In the ’90s I purchased quite a few soundtracks from one J.J. Jones. After a couple of years of contact, I extended an invitation t
